Who is responsible?

What data we process

You can use the entire site without leaving your data behind. The quiz only stores your answers temporarily in your own browser session so it can show you a recommendation; they are not linked to you as a person and are not kept after you leave the site.

If you fill in the contact form, we process the details you enter yourself (such as your name, your email address and your message), solely in order to reply to you. We do not use those details for anything else and do not share them with third parties.

Cookies and similar techniques

A cookie is a small file stored on your device. We use three kinds:

Functional and necessary

These are needed to make the site work and do not require consent. They remember, for example, your quiz answers during your visit and your preference for light or dark mode. This data stays on your own device.

Advertising cookies

We show ads through Google AdSense to keep the site free. Google may place cookies to make ads more relevant and to measure them. These cookies are only placed after you have given your consent through the notice that appears on your first visit.

Affiliate links

Some links on the site are affiliate links. If you click one, that partner may place a cookie to see that you came through us, so we can earn a small commission if you buy something. It costs you nothing extra. These cookies are only placed once you click such a link yourself.

Your consent

On your first visit we ask, via a notice, whether you accept advertising and measurement cookies. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through that same notice. If you refuse, the site keeps working; you will simply get less tailored ads.

Third-party services

For parts of the site we use external services. Google AdSense provides the ads. For film details such as posters and ratings we use information from external film databases. For affiliate links we work with advertising networks. These parties have their own privacy policies; we recommend reading them if you want to know how they handle data.

How long we keep data

We do not keep quiz answers: they disappear as soon as you close your visit. Messages sent through the contact form are kept no longer than needed to handle your question.

Your rights

You have the right to see the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to its use. To do so, send a message to the email address at the bottom of this page; we will respond as soon as we can.

If you disagree with how we handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Changes

We may update this statement from time to time, for example when we start using a new service. The date at the top shows when we last updated it.
