What movie should I watch? is a free web app that figures out, in a few short questions, exactly what you're in the mood for tonight, and finds one clear movie recommendation for it — including a match percentage and an explanation of why it fits. No endless lists, no reviews to wade through: just one movie that fits.

We calculate it. Every answer you give carries a weight: your genre preference counts heaviest, followed by your mood, how much tension you can handle, how much time you have and the movie's rating. Films similar to titles you loved get a bonus, films similar to ones you hated get a penalty. Together that produces a match percentage per film, and we show you the highest. No AI involved — it is a fixed, predictable calculation.
Because lists are exactly the problem we set out to solve. The more options you get, the longer you keep hesitating — you know the feeling from endlessly scrolling through streaming services. So we give you one clear pick with an explanation of why it fits. Not feeling it? The next one is one click away.
Click "No, give me another". You instantly get the next best match from the same calculation, without redoing the quiz. Repeat as often as you like. If nothing fits, retake the quiz with different answers — the mood you pick usually makes the biggest difference.
Every recommendation lists all the Dutch streaming services — Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Videoland, HBO Max and the rest. Click one and you search that film there straight away. We deliberately do not claim a film "is on Netflix", because catalogues change constantly and we would end up misinforming you. The JustWatch link shows you the current situation in one click.
Yes, and you do not need an app store. You can add the site to your home screen as an app, with its own icon and no address bar. The steps for both Android and iPhone are above on this page — it takes about half a minute.
No. Your answers are only used during your visit to calculate a match and are not saved afterwards. You do not need an account and we never ask for your email address. The only things we remember are your light or dark theme preference and your language choice, so you do not have to set those every time.
No, the app is completely free and will stay that way. There is no trial period and no payment screen appearing halfway. If you would like to support us, you can donate voluntarily via the donation page — but that is explicitly not a requirement to use everything.
